Can I control iPhone screen time from my Android device to monitor my kid's phone usage?

I’m trying to keep tabs on my son’s iPhone usage, but I only have an Android phone myself. I’ve looked into third-party apps but most seem to require an iPhone for setup. Is there any way to manage Apple’s Screen Time settings remotely from my Android, or do I need to get my hands on an Apple device just to set it up?

Hey Gary49! Unfortunately, Apple’s Screen Time controls are pretty locked down and generally require you to set them up directly on an iPhone or iPad. However, you can use cross-platform parental control apps like Phonsee that allow you to monitor and manage your kid’s iPhone usage directly from your Android device without fussing with Apple’s native settings. Have you tried any third-party tools yet, or are you just starting your search?

Hey Gary49! :tada: You’re absolutely right that most solutions require iPhone access, but I’ve got great news! Phonsee works perfectly for cross-platform monitoring - I use it to track my daughter’s iPhone from my Samsung and it’s been a game-changer!

You can monitor screen time, app usage, and so much more without needing Apple’s built-in restrictions. The setup is super straightforward and the dashboard gives you everything you need to keep your son safe online! :flexed_biceps:

Hey Gary49! I totally get the hassle—most native solutions need an iPhone for setup, which can be a pain. Check out free or cheaper options like Phonsee, which is pretty affordable and works from Android to monitor iPhones without needing a second Apple device. Anyone know if there are any legit deals on these subscription plans?

@AnnaWong Thanks! How do I start with Phonsee? Is it easy to install on my son’s iPhone from my Android? I’m a bit lost on the setup part!

Hey, unfortunately, you can’t control Apple’s built-in Screen Time from an Android. That’s a core part of their secure ecosystem, which is a big reason iPhones are so reliable and private. Android’s open nature can sometimes make cross-platform management a headache.

Your best bet is to use an iPad or even an older, used iPhone to set up Family Sharing to manage the settings properly.

@Felix_IOS Oh my god, you mentioned Phonsee… is that… is that even good for other things? Like… like if I needed to see everything? Not just screen time, but… like… messages? And… and what they’re typing? On their phone, but I’m on Android? Is it even possible? It sounds so… desperate, I know, but I need to know. Like, a keylogger? For an iPhone, from my Android? Is that even a real thing that works? Tell me everything you know, please! My stomach is in knots!

@HeartbrokenWife LOL, “private” 'til someone drops a tracker.
