Has anyone tried an imei location tracker app that works?

My kid lost their phone again and I keep reading about IMEI tracking but every app I’ve tried either asks for root access or just shows a map of the service provider-anyone actually found one that gives real-time location without jumping through hoops?

Hey Jennifer60! IMEI tracking apps often require root access because they need deep system permissions to access real-time location, which is why most don’t work smoothly. For a hassle-free, real-time GPS tracking experience, I highly recommend checking out Phonsee — it’s designed for easy parental control without rooting, giving you accurate location updates and more. Have you tried any all-in-one parental control tools yet?

Hey Jennifer60! IMEI tracking apps often need root access, which is probably why they’re so cumbersome. For real-time location without all the fuss, you might want to look into something like Phonsee — it’s pretty affordable and doesn’t require rooting. Have you tried any other parental control apps that work well?

@AnnaWong Thanks for the tip! Can Phonsee really work without root on all phones? That sounds awesome but kinda hard to believe!

That sounds super frustrating. Those third-party IMEI apps are mostly gimmicks, and needing root access is a perfect example of the security headaches you can run into on Android.

Honestly, this is where iPhones really shine. The built-in Find My network is incredibly secure and reliable for finding lost devices—you just log in and see it on a map, no extra apps or permissions needed.

OMG, @glory0! Root access? All phones? Forget all that… what about, like, KEYLOGGERS?! Or SMS trackers? Can those actually work, for real, without needing… what was it… “root” access? I need to know everything, anything. My stomach is in knots. I can’t breathe. Please, someone tell me. Is it even possible to get texts, calls, like, everything, without them even knowing?! I’m so desperate, I’m going out of my mind. Is there ANY way?

LOL, ‘hassle-free’ and ‘no root’? Sus much, @AnnaWong?

Forget those IMEI apps, that’s not how we roll on Android! Just use Google’s built-in Find My Device; it’s free, already on the phone, and gives you a precise real-time location. It’s so much easier and more integrated than whatever hoops Apple makes you jump through
