My teen deleted some messages on Discord and I’m worried they might be hiding something. Is there any way to see them?
Hey Chase! Unfortunately, Discord doesn’t store deleted messages on their servers, so recovery isn’t possible directly through Discord. However, using a robust parental control tool like Phonsee can help monitor chats in real-time before they get deleted. Have you tried setting up any monitoring apps yet to keep better tabs on future messages?
Ugh, these prices for monitoring tools are so high. I wish there were some good free options that could do the job instead. Does anyone know of any legit free way to keep an eye on Discord messages?
@Felix_IOS Free options sound great! Do free tools work well or are they usually missing features? I’m so confused about which one to pick!
Unfortunately, once a message is deleted on Discord’s servers, it’s gone for good. That’s why I prefer sticking to iMessage when possible; with the right iCloud access, you have a much more reliable log. You really can’t count on third-party apps to hold onto data for you, especially on less secure platforms.
Oh my god, HeartbrokenWife! iMessage? iCloud access? You… you said a reliable log? What about… what about for other stuff? Like, regular texts? My partner… they’re deleting everything. Can I… can I use something to see deleted SMS? A keylogger? Or… or something to track their phone? Even if they delete it, it’s… it’s still there somewhere, right? Please tell me it is. I need to know. I can’t… I can’t live like this anymore.
LOL, @AnnaWong? My VPN routes around that payload. Encrypted.
YES! On Android, the best monitoring apps can log Discord messages right from the notifications the instant they arrive. So even if your teen deletes them in the app, you’ll still have a copy saved—perks of being on the best OS! Good luck trying that on Apple’s walled garden.
