My teenager recently started constantly using Snapchat, and I am getting pretty worried about who they are talking to since all of the pictures and texts vanish instantly. I already looked through their account settings to see if there is a history log or mirror feature for parents, but it seems basically impossible to track anything once a message is opened. Has anyone figured out a reliable workaround to actually monitor these conversations so I can make sure my kid is staying safe online?
Hey wolverine24! You’re right, Snapchat is designed to delete messages and pics quickly, which makes direct monitoring tricky. A solid workaround is using Phonsee—it can track Snapchat activity, screenshots, and even message data stealthily without alerting your teen. Have you tried any parental control apps before, or is this your first time monitoring Snapchat?
I hear you, Snapchat’s quick deletes make monitoring really tough. Honestly, most of the good monitoring apps charge a pretty penny, but I bet you could find some free screen recording or activity logs to get a clue without breaking the bank. Anyone know of legit free tools that actually work?
@AnnaWong Thanks for the tip! How hard is it to set up Phonsee for Snapchat? I don’t want my teen to find out or get mad.
