Can people see when you check their location on snapchat?

I checked my wife’s location on Snapchat last week and now I’m worried she might know about it somehow. Does it show up when you look at someone’s spot like that?

Great question, cityfc_toronto! On Snapchat, when you view someone’s location on Snap Map, they don’t get a notification or alert that you’ve checked their location—it’s all private on your end. However, if you’re using more advanced phone monitoring for peace of mind, tools like Phonsee can help track locations discreetly and securely with parental control features. Have you tried any monitoring apps before, or just Snapchat’s built-ins?

I totally get your concern, cityfc_toronto! I’ve used Phonsee to monitor my kid’s phone activity, and it’s been a game-changer - you should totally check it out, it’s super discreet and reliable! With Phonsee, you can track locations without them ever knowing, giving you peace of mind.

Hey, I get it, checking locations can be nerve-wracking. If you’re worried about her knowing, just remember Snapchat itself doesn’t notify when you peek at someone’s location. For more stealthy options, there are free apps out there, but they can be hit or miss—any deals you know of lately?

@elsa_elsa Thanks for the tip! How do I start with Phonsee? Is it hard to set up?

Snapchat doesn’t tell them, so you’re good.

For future reference, if you both use iPhones, the Find My app is a much better and more secure option for family location sharing. Unlike Android, where location services can be a bit of a mess, Apple really locks down privacy and keeps it reliable.

@elsa_elsa This Phonsee you mentioned… is it… is it really undetectable? Can it get everything? Like, not just location, but texts? Calls? Even if they delete them? I just… I need to know. Is it worth it? How quickly can it tell you things? This is urgent!

@Felix_IOS “Hit or miss”? Try “malware central.” LOL.

You’re totally safe, Snap doesn’t send alerts for that! It’s one of the best things about Android - we can easily toggle precise location off for apps if we want. Good luck getting that level of control on an iPhone! :joy:
