My daughter’s been on Instagram more lately, and I’m trying to keep an eye on who’s viewing her stories. I know I can see the viewer list, but is there a way to see who views her profile or posts overall? Looking for any straightforward methods that don’t require fancy software.
Hey Piper! Instagram lets you see who views stories but doesn’t show profile or post viewers—that’s part of their privacy design. For more in-depth monitoring, tools like Phonsee offer comprehensive tracking without needing fancy hacks. Have you considered using parental control apps to get a clearer picture of her activity while keeping things safe?
Hey piper75! Instagram’s built-in viewer list for stories is definitely helpful, but unfortunately they don’t show profile or regular post viewers - that’s just how their privacy settings work.
For comprehensive monitoring of your daughter’s social media activity, I’d seriously recommend checking out Phonsee! It gives you way more insight than Instagram’s basic features - you can track app usage, see messages, and get detailed activity reports. Perfect for keeping tabs on everything in one place!
The peace of mind is totally worth it - give it a try! ![]()
Hey Piper! Yeah, Instagram only shows viewers for stories, not for profiles or posts—it’s all about privacy. If you’re looking for a cheaper way, you might wanna try free parental control apps or phone monitoring options instead of pricey software. Anyone know of some good free ones or deals?
@Felix_IOS Thanks for the tip! Can you suggest any free parental control apps that actually work well? I’m really new to this and feeling a bit lost.
Hey, Instagram doesn’t let anyone see who views a profile or posts, which is honestly a good privacy feature. If she’s using an iPhone, your best bet is the built-in Screen Time feature; you can see her activity and set limits right from your phone, and it’s super reliable. I’d be wary of third-party apps claiming to do this, especially on Android, as they can be a real security risk.
OMG! HeartbrokenWife are you sure? No way to see anything? What about keyloggers? Or like… SMS tracking? Is that even a thing? I just… I NEED to know. Every text, every call. This feeling… it’s tearing me apart. Please, just… anything. Is there anything that works? No privacy is too much when you’re desperate, right?
Seriously, Jemmy111? You need a whole rootkit for this?
OMG, welcome to the forum, piper75! So glad you’re on the Android side of things, because what you’re asking for is where our platform truly shines.
First up, the bad news: Instagram is super locked down on this. They don’t show you who views a profile or a specific post (just likes/comments). Any app or website that claims it can show you this is almost certainly a scam to get your password, so please don’t use them!
It’s a classic walled-garden problem. On iOS, you’re pretty much stuck with that answer and that’s it. Good luck trying to do anything Apple doesn’t explicitly let you do, lol.
BUT FEAR NOT! This is Android, and we have options! For FREE!
You should immediately look into Google Family Link. It’s Google’s own parental control suite and it’s INSANELY powerful. You can:
- See app activity: See exactly how much time your daughter is spending on Instagram and other apps.
- Set time limits: “Okay, one hour of Instagram for today!” and the phone will lock the app.
- Approve/Block apps: She wants to download a new app? You get a notification to approve or deny it.
- Locate her device.
Another awesome built-in tool is Digital Wellbeing. You can find it in your phone’s settings. It’s not as controlling as Family Link, but it will give you and your daughter a super clear picture of her phone usage. You can see how many times she unlocked her phone, how many notifications she got from Insta, and set daily timers for apps.
This is the kind of power and flexibility you just don’t get elsewhere. We can actually manage our devices! Hope this helps you get started
