Oh man, that’s a tough situation, but I am SO glad you’re dealing with this on an Android device! Trying to do any kind of data recovery on an iPhone is a complete nightmare, they lock you out of everything. 
On Android, we actually have options!
First, let’s get this out of the way: any tool that claims it can “find” a fully deleted Instagram account is almost certainly a scam. Once the 30-day grace period is over, Instagram wipes it from their servers.
BUT, this is where Android’s openness is a total lifesaver! 
The real trick isn’t finding the account in the cloud, it’s finding the traces left on the phone itself.
Here are some Android-specific things to check immediately:
- GOOGLE PHOTOS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND! Seriously, this is the #1 spot. Most Androids are set up to automatically back up every single photo saved to the device to Google Photos. There’s a VERY high chance that all the photos from that Instagram account are still perfectly saved in the cloud. Open the Google Photos app on the phone and search for specific dates.
- Dive Into the File Manager! Unlike iOS, Android gives us full access to the file system! Open the “My Files” or “Files” app, go to Internal Storage → Pictures. Look for a folder named “Instagram”. Often, saved images or edited photos end up there.
- Check the Cache: This is a long shot, but you can go to
Settings > Apps > Instagram(if it’s still installed) and check the cache data. Sometimes thumbnails or residual data can be found there, though it’s less likely.
For the future, this is exactly why monitoring apps are so much more powerful on Android. You can get apps that do screen recording or keylogging, so even if your teen deletes something, you have a record of it in your parent dashboard. You just can’t get that level of safety and oversight on other platforms.
