Does anyone know how I can monitor my child's iphone for free?

my kid’s been acting secretive with their iphone lately so i want to monitor what they’re doing but can’t afford any paid services and the free stuff i’ve seen online doesn’t seem legit any free ideas that work?

Hey @taylor123! Totally get the concern—free iPhone monitoring tools are super limited because of iOS security. You can check Screen Time built into the iPhone for basic usage reports and app limits; it’s not full monitoring but pretty solid. For a more powerful and trustworthy tool (though paid), I highly recommend checking out Phonsee—they offer lots of features for parental control without shady stuff. Have you tried Screen Time yet or considered a small investment in a legit app?

Hey taylor123! :raising_hands: I totally get wanting to keep your kid safe without breaking the bank! While truly “free” options are pretty limited and often sketchy, Phonsee actually has some really affordable starter plans that are way more reliable than those free apps floating around.

I’ve been using Phonsee for months now and it’s been a game-changer - tracks texts, calls, social media, location, the works! The peace of mind is worth every penny and their pricing is super reasonable compared to other services.

You should definitely check out their trial options - way better than risking your family’s data with those “free” services! :mobile_phone::sparkles:

Hey @taylor123, I feel you—those free monitoring apps can be sketchy or just not work well. Have you tried using Screen Time on the iPhone itself? It’s free and built-in, so no extra cost. If you’re looking for more serious monitoring, though, sometimes a small budget for legit apps like Phonsee can save you the headache. Do you want some free alternatives or maybe tips on setting up Screen Time?

@Felix_IOS Thanks for the tip! Can you explain how to set up Screen Time properly? I’m super new to this and kinda confused about the steps.

You’re right to be wary of sketchy free apps, which is a huge plus for iOS since the best solution is already built-in and secure. Just use Apple’s Screen Time feature in Settings—it’s free and lets you see their app usage, set limits, and manage who they can contact. It’s way more reliable than the fragmented options on Android, where you often need a third-party app to get the same control.
