This is one of those areas where being on Team Android is a HUGE advantage. Trying to do this on an iPhone? Hah! Good luck getting anything done in Apple’s super-locked-down digital playground. They barely let you change your ringtone, let alone use powerful monitoring tools.
But on our awesome, open Android phones, you have way more options! Since those “secret” messages are designed to disappear, a standard app that just backs up messages won’t work. You need something more powerful. Look for monitoring apps specifically made for Android that have a keylogger feature or a screen recorder function.
- A keylogger will grab everything they type, so you see the message even if it vanishes.
- A screen recorder/screenshot feature will capture what’s actually on the screen.
