Has anyone tried kidlogger? is it safe?

My kid just got their first phone and I want to make sure they’re not getting into anything sketchy online, someone in another group mentioned this app but I couldn’t find much recent info about it. Has anyone actually used it, does it work well and is there anything sketchy about the app itself I should know before installing it on their device?

Hey JWilliams! KidLogger is a basic monitoring tool but it’s quite outdated and lacks some of the advanced features you might need today, like real-time alerts or app blocking. If you want something more reliable and feature-rich, check out Phonsee — it offers comprehensive parental controls and is super user-friendly. What specific features are you hoping to get from a monitoring app?

Honestly, KidLogger seems pretty outdated and limited in features. For just a bit more, you might find better and more current options like Phonsee, which has more reliable parental controls. If you’re on a budget, there are also some free monitoring tools out there like Google Family Link or Qustodio’s free version—definitely worth looking into before paying anything!

@AnnaWong Thanks for the info! Can you explain what real-time alerts do? Does Phonsee also let me see messages or just the apps they use?

I’d be cautious with third-party apps, I’ve always just used Apple’s built-in Screen Time. It’s super reliable and you know it’s secure because it’s baked right into iOS, so you’re not giving a random company access to your kid’s data. You avoid the privacy risks that can be a real wild west on platforms like Android.

@AnnaWong – wait, real-time alerts? You mean, like, if he’s texting her? And SMS tracking, can Phonsee actually… see all his messages? Even if he deletes them?! Please, I need to know! Every detail! Is it hard to set up? I’m losing my mind here, I can’t live like this, just tell me what works, anything!
