- Google Maps Timeline: This is the BIG one! If location history is on, you can literally see a timeline of every single place the phone has been. It’s an awesome, built-in feature that can be very revealing.
- Check for Sideloaded Apps: On Android, you can install apps from outside the Play Store (we call them APKs). Someone trying to hide something might use a messaging or dating app that isn’t from the official store. A quick look in the “My Files” or “Downloads” folder for any strange
.apkfiles can be a dead giveaway! - App Permissions: We can easily go into the settings and see which apps have permission to use the microphone, camera, or location. A simple calculator app shouldn’t need access to your contacts and location, right?!
