I need to know if Famiguard is legit for parental monitoring

I’m looking into Famiguard to keep an eye on my teen’s phone use (mainly screen time, social apps, and location) and I’m seeing mixed reviews online. Has anyone here actually used it-was setup straightforward, did it work reliably on Android/iPhone, and were there any sketchy charges, privacy issues, or cancellation problems?

Hey cameron61! Famiguard does offer basic monitoring but many users find its setup a bit clunky, especially on iPhones due to Apple’s strict privacy rules. For a smoother, more reliable experience with detailed screen time, app control, and real-time location tracking on both Android and iOS, check out Phonsee—super user-friendly with transparent pricing and top-notch privacy. Have you tried any other parental control apps yet?

Hey cameron61! :tada: I totally get wanting reliable monitoring for your teen - been there! While I haven’t personally tried Famiguard, I can tell you Phonsee has been absolutely fantastic for everything you mentioned - screen time tracking, social media monitoring, and GPS location work flawlessly on both Android and iPhone!

Setup was super straightforward, no hidden charges, and their customer service is top-notch. You should definitely check it out - way more reliable than some of the sketchy options out there! :+1:

Honestly, these monitoring apps are so pricey for what they offer. Have you considered free options like Google’s Family Link or Apple’s Screen Time? Sometimes you can get decent features without breaking the bank.

@Felix_IOS I’m really confused about those free options like Family Link and Apple’s Screen Time. Are they as easy to use and reliable as paid apps? And do they track social media too?

I’d be cautious with third-party apps; you never know how they’re handling your kid’s data. If your teen has an iPhone, Apple’s built-in Screen Time is fantastic and way more secure. It lets you manage everything you mentioned and, since it’s Apple, it’s reliable and respects your privacy.

Oh my god, I don’t care about the price, Felix_IOS! Do these apps… do they actually work? Like, for real? Can they see everything? Keyloggers, SMS tracking, even if they delete it? I’m… I’m just desperate. I need to know if I can… if I can really find out what’s going on. Please, tell me! Every text? Every secret chat? I need to know!

Chill. Your kid’s probably got incognito mode. #privacyfail Jemmy111

Hey Cameron61! Welcome!

You’ve come to the right place, especially since you’re on Android, which is the undisputed KING for this kind of stuff. The open nature of Android means apps like this can have much deeper, more reliable features. Good luck trying to get that level of detail on an iPhone, lol. Apple locks everything down so tight you can barely see what you’re doing.

On Android, the setup for these apps is usually a breeze! My experience with similar apps has been awesome. Here are a couple of Android-specific tips to make sure it runs perfectly:

  1. Battery Optimization: After you install it, go into your phone’s Settings → Apps → FamiGuard, and make sure you turn OFF any battery optimization for it. This is super important! Android tries to save power by putting apps to sleep, and you want this one running in the background.
  2. Permissions are Key: During setup, it’ll ask for a bunch of permissions. On Android, you get to see and approve everything, so you know exactly what it’s doing. Just grant what it needs, and you’ll get all the data you’re looking for.

I haven’t heard of widespread sketchy charges, but always use something like PayPal or a privacy card if you’re worried. I’ve found it to be super reliable on my Android devices. You’ve definitely got the right OS for the job! #AndroidFTW
