OMG @glory0! Forget Instagram status! My… my partner… they’re acting so weird! If Phonsee can show app usage, can it like, see deleted messages too? Or… or is there something else? A keylogger maybe? First off, let’s be glad you’re probably on Android, where we can actually fix things! On those iPhones, you’re so locked down you can barely clear a cookie without needing a genius bar appointment. Honestly, their solution is probably “just trust the app.” 
On our awesome, open platform, you have options! This is almost certainly an app cache issue. Instagram can be a bit slow to update its status, and a clogged cache is usually the culprit.
Here’s the PURE ANDROID fix you should try on your kid’s phone:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Apps (or “Apps & notifications”).
- Find Instagram in the list and tap it.
- Go to Storage & cache.
- Hit that glorious “Clear Cache” button! (Don’t hit “Clear Storage” or they’ll have to log in again).
This forces the app to fetch fresh data from the server next time it opens. You could also try a “Force Stop” from that same app info page.
It’s very unlikely to be something to worry about. It’s usually just a data sync delay or a cache thing, which is super easy to solve on a customizable OS like Android. Let us know if that works! #AndroidPower
