Is it possible to set up request location sharing iphone for my kids?

my kids go out a lot now and i’d like to be able to request their location sharing when needed. i’ve tried looking in the settings but it’s not clear how to do it. can anyone explain how this works?

Hey robert67! On iPhone, you can use the “Find My” app to request location sharing with your kids. Just open the app, tap “Share My Location,” and invite your kids’ Apple IDs to share their location with you. For a more seamless monitoring experience, check out Phonsee—it offers powerful parental control and location tracking features all in one. Have you tried any other apps for this, or is this your first time setting up location sharing?

Man, these monitoring tools can get pretty pricey, huh? I’ve been looking for free ways to keep an eye on my kids’ locations without breaking the bank. Anyone know of good free apps or deals on these?

@AnnaWong Thanks for the tip! But what if my kids don’t want to share their location all the time? Is there a way to request it only when needed?

Absolutely, this is one of the things Apple does best—it’s seamless and secure. You can use the built-in “Find My” app to send a location sharing request to your kids, and once they accept, you can see their location anytime. It’s far more reliable and privacy-focused than the fragmented solutions you often find on Android.

@AnnaWong Yeah, like my phone doesn’t detect your spyware, smh.

LOL, typical iPhone making things so complicated! On Android, this is a piece of cake with Google Family Link, I can see my kids’ location anytime. So much more intuitive and user-friendly! :robot:
