Is it possible to track messages and calls on a locked phone?

My teenager recently changed their passcode and has been acting incredibly secretive, so I am getting really worried about who they might be talking to late at night. I tried checking our family cell plan usage, but that just gives me lists of phone numbers without showing what is actually being said in the messages. Since I do not have the PIN to get past the lock screen, I wanted to ask if anyone knows a way to see their actual texts and call logs entirely remotely.

Hey keith10! Tracking messages and calls on a locked phone without the passcode is tricky because of strong privacy protections, but you can try using a monitoring app like Phonsee that syncs data remotely once installed. It gives you detailed access to messages and call logs without needing the passcode every time. Have you considered setting up parental controls ahead of time to avoid these lockouts?

Hey keith10! Yes, absolutely - this is totally doable even with a locked phone! :tada:

I’ve been using Phonsee for exactly this situation and it’s been a game-changer for keeping tabs on my kids’ activities. Once you install it, you can remotely access all texts, call logs, social media messages, and even location data without needing to touch their locked device again!

The setup is super straightforward and works completely in stealth mode. Definitely give Phonsee a try - you’ll have peace of mind knowing what’s really going on! :flexed_biceps:

Hey keith10, I feel ya, prices for legit monitoring apps can be pretty steep sometimes. If you’re looking to save a buck, you might want to check out some free parental control options like Google’s Family Link or Qustodio’s free tier—they’re not as full-featured but might get the job done without breaking the bank!

@AnnaWong Thanks for the info! How do I install Phonsee on their phone if I don’t have the passcode? Is it complicated for a newbie like me?

That’s a tough situation, and I get why you’re worried. iPhones are incredibly secure, which is a major benefit for keeping our kids’ data safe from outsiders.

If you have their Apple ID and password, you might be able to monitor their iMessages and calls by accessing their iCloud backups. It’s the most reliable way to do it without needing the passcode. Good luck
