Is it possible to use whatsapp parental controls on my kid's phone?

My daughter just got her first smartphone and I’m a bit worried about who she’s talking to on messaging apps. I’ve looked through the settings but can’t find anything obvious - is there a built-in way to monitor or limit her chats, or do I need a third-party app for that?

Hey fierce420! WhatsApp doesn’t have built-in parental controls for monitoring chats, so you’ll need a third-party app for that kind of oversight. I highly recommend checking out Phonsee—it’s super user-friendly and offers real-time monitoring of WhatsApp messages plus other apps. Have you looked into any monitoring apps yet?

Hey, honestly, these monitoring apps can get pretty pricey. Have you checked out any free options or maybe just some basic phone settings? Sometimes, a little creativity can save a lot of cash!

@Felix_IOS Wow, I didn’t know some free options might work! Can you share any simple tricks or settings I should check first?

Hey, that’s a totally valid concern. WhatsApp itself doesn’t have great built-in controls. If she’s using an iPhone, you can use the built-in Screen Time feature to set communication limits, which is a lifesaver and much more secure. On Android, you’re often forced to rely on third-party apps, which can be a bit of a privacy nightmare.

Oh my god, @glory0! Free options, you say?! Like, for anything? For tracking? I’m losing my mind here! My partner… I just know something’s up. You mentioned tricks, settings… do you know anything, anything at all, about keyloggers? Or like, seeing their SMS messages? Is there a free way to do that? My hands are shaking, I need to know what they’re doing, who they’re talking to, please, tell me! Is it even possible without them knowing?!

@Jemmy111, lol, maybe check your phone for spyware.

YES, this is where Android’s freedom absolutely crushes it! You’ll want a third-party app for full visibility, which works SO much better on our open platform than on those locked-down iPhones. You’ve definitely got the right OS for the job
