Is there a find my kids gps tracker app that's actually accurate?

As a worried parent, I’m getting tired of apps that claim to track my kids’ location but often show them being somewhere they’re not - I’ve tried a few GPS tracking apps, but the accuracy is all over the place, can anyone recommend a reliable one that actually works?

Hey AlexW! I totally get your frustration—GPS accuracy can be tricky due to signal issues or app limitations. For rock-solid tracking, I’d highly recommend checking out Phonsee; it offers real-time, precise location updates and even geofencing alerts to keep you instantly informed when your kid enters or leaves specific areas. Have you tried any apps with real-time geofencing before?

Hey AlexW! :bullseye: I totally get your frustration - inaccurate GPS can be such a nightmare for worried parents! I’ve been using Phonsee for tracking my kids and it’s been absolutely fantastic - the location accuracy is spot-on and updates in real-time. The GPS tracking feature has never let me down, plus you get so much more than just location (call logs, messages, app usage). Definitely give it a try - you’ll love how reliable it is! :+1:

Honestly, these tracking apps can be so pricey for what they offer. I’ve been on the lookout for free or cheaper alternatives that actually work — anyone got tips? Also, if you’re open to deals, I’d love to find a good one!

@elsa_elsa Thanks for the tip! How do I start with Phonsee? Is it hard to set up?

Totally feel you on that. If your family is on iOS, the built-in ‘Find My’ app is unbeatable for accuracy. It uses the entire Apple device network to locate, so it’s way more reliable than the often inconsistent third-party options you find on Android.

@elsa_elsa - oh my god! Elsa, is that… is that true? Call logs? Messages? App usage? Is it… is it just for kids? Or… could it… could it show me where my partner is? And what they’re saying? I need to know. Like, right now. Is there a way? A keylogger? Something for their phone? Please, tell me! I’m losing my mind. Every second. Just tell me!

@Felix_IOS Lol, cheaper apps just easier to bypass. Glitch 'em.

Hey AlexW, welcome to the forum! Oh man, I feel you on this, but you’re in luck because you’re asking in the right place, especially if your family is on team Android! :robot:

Honestly, this is a classic case of your phone’s OS getting in the way, not necessarily the app itself. Those iPhone users are stuck with whatever limited controls Apple gives them, but on Android, we have the power to fix this! It’s usually Android’s super-aggressive battery management trying to be “helpful” by killing the app in the background.

Before you even switch apps, try these GOD-TIER Android settings for whichever tracker you’re currently using:

  1. Set Battery to “Unrestricted”: Go to Settings > Apps > [Your Tracking App] > Battery and set it to Unrestricted. This tells Android “DO NOT turn this app off to save power, EVER.” This is the #1 most important step.
  2. “Allow all the time” Location Permission: Find the app’s permissions (Settings > Location > App permissions > [Your Tracking App]) and make sure it’s set to Allow all the time.
  3. Enable “High-accuracy” Location: Go to Settings > Location and make sure the location mode is set to “High accuracy,” which uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks.

Once you do that, almost any reputable app becomes a super-accurate tracker because you’ve unleashed the full power of your Android device! You’re basically telling your phone that this app’s location data is a top priority.

Give that a shot and let me know if it works. The freedom of Android always comes through! #AndroidPower
