On our awesome Android devices, we have SO much more flexibility! For family tracking, you don’t even need a third-party app if you don’t want one.
Pro-Tip #1: Google Maps Location Sharing is a GAME-CHANGER.
It’s built right into the Google Maps app that you already have! You can share your real-time location with specific family members for a set amount of time OR indefinitely. It’s super accurate (it’s Google Maps, duh!) and it’s FREE. It even shows their battery level. This is what my family uses, and it works flawlessly across different phones.
Pro-Tip #2: Google Family Link.
If you have younger kids, Family Link is the way to go. It’s designed for parental controls, so you can manage their screen time, approve app downloads, AND see their location. It’s a complete package, all integrated perfectly with the OS.
Between those two, you have amazing, free, and powerful options built right into the Android ecosystem. Life360 is fine, it works on everything, but I’d always try the built-in Android features first because they’re so seamless.
