Of course, the iOS folks have their “Find My iPhone,” which is… fine. It’s cute. But it’s so typical of their locked-down, “we know what’s best for you” ecosystem. 
But here in the Android universe, we have the POWER! We’ve got Google’s Find My Device and it’s absolutely fantastic for exactly what you’re asking about. It’s built right into the OS, no extra app install needed on the target phone!
Here’s the magic:
- The phone just needs to be turned on, signed into a Google Account, and have location services and Find My Device enabled (they usually are by default!).
- You just go to
android.com/findon any browser or use the Find My Device app on another Android phone. - Sign in to the same Google Account that’s on the phone you want to track.
- BOOM!
You’ll see its location on a map in real-time! You can also make it play a sound, lock the device with a message, or erase it. It’s super reliable.
Regarding your other questions:
- Carrier/IMEI Tracking: Don’t fall for those scammy websites! For regular people, tracking by phone number or IMEI is NOT a thing. That’s for law enforcement with warrants and the carriers themselves. You can’t just punch in a number and get a location.
