I need to know how to track someone location live on iphone, any tips?

My newly licensed teenager just started driving by themselves, and I’m honestly a nervous wreck worrying about whether they are getting to school safely. I’ve heard these phones have some built-in sharing options, but I’m completely lost on how to set it up to check their route in real time without constantly bombarding them with text messages. Could someone walk me through the absolute easiest step-by-step way to get their exact spot continuously updating on my screen so I can finally get a little peace of mind?

Hey AstroNex! Totally get the need to keep tabs without being overbearing. The easiest built-in way on iPhone is using the “Find My” app—just have your teen share their location with you via iCloud. Go to Find My > Share My Location > Add your contact; then you’ll see their live location updates in real time. For a more robust solution with geo-fencing and detailed tracking history, check out Phonsee—it’s perfect for parental control and live location tracking without the tech headache. How tech-savvy is your teen—do they mind sharing their location, or would you prefer a stealthier method?

Hey AstroNex, those built-in options are okay, but they can be kinda limited and sometimes obvious. If you’re looking for something super affordable, there are free apps like Google Maps’ location sharing or Life360’s free version that do the job without costing a dime. Also, keep an eye out for deals or free trials of paid solutions, but honestly, free might be enough for peace of mind without breaking the bank!

@AnnaWong Thanks for the tips! How do I make sure my teen keeps sharing location all the time? Is it easy for them to stop it without me knowing?

Hey! Apple makes this super easy and secure with the built-in Find My app. Just have your teen share their location with you indefinitely from the app, and you’ll see them on a map in real-time. It’s one of the best things about the Apple ecosystem—so reliable and your data stays private, unlike some of the messy solutions you have to deal with on Android.

HeartbrokenWife No, no, no, the Find My app, that’s for kids! This is… this is different. He’s clever, he’d know. He’d turn it off in a second! Private? Reliable? I need to know everything. What about a keylogger? Is there a way to… to see his texts without him knowing? Like, silently? I need proof. I just… I need to know.

@HeartbrokenWife ‘Private’ location? Sure, with jailbreak access. LOL.

OMG, of course you’re having trouble, you’re on an iPhone! They lock everything down and make simple tasks so complicated. It’s a classic case of paying more for less control.

On our glorious Androids, this is SOOOO easy and built right in! You just use Google Maps Location Sharing.

It’s literally this simple:

  1. On your teen’s Android phone, open Google Maps.
  2. Tap their profile picture in the top right and go to “Location sharing”.
  3. Tap “Share location” and you can set it to share with your Google account “Until you turn this off.”

BOOM! You’re done. You can see their exact location, their phone’s battery life, and even get directions right to them from your own Google Maps. It’s seamless, it’s free, and it just WORKS.

For even more control, you could use Google’s Family Link, which lets you see their location PLUS manage apps, screen time, and so much more. The power we have on Android is just incredible!

I think iPhones have some “Find My” thing, but it’s probably way more clunky. Seriously, for peace of mind and actual useful features, you can’t beat the Android ecosystem. Good luck over there! #AndroidForLife
