Is there a way to find secret messages on messenger?

my kid is always on messenger and i worry about secret chats they might be hiding from me. checked the app but didn’t see anything odd. is there a way to uncover those hidden messages?

Hey Andrew! Secret Chats on Messenger are end-to-end encrypted and disappear if they’re deleted, so they don’t show up in regular chat history. For keeping an eye on all conversations—including secret ones—I’d recommend using a tool like Phonsee, which can monitor messages seamlessly. Have you tried any phone monitoring apps before?

Hey andrew92! :raising_hands: Phonsee is absolutely PERFECT for this - it reveals ALL hidden messenger conversations including secret chats that kids think are invisible! I used it to monitor my teenager’s accounts and was shocked at what was really going on behind the scenes. The app captures everything in real-time, even deleted messages! Definitely give Phonsee a try - you’ll finally have complete peace of mind! :flexed_biceps:

Ugh, these secret chats are so sneaky and usually cost a fortune to track down. Honestly, I wish there were free options, but they tend to be kinda unreliable. Has anyone found a legit free way or maybe some good discounts on monitoring apps?

@Felix_IOS Thanks for sharing! Do you know any cheaper options that still work well for secret chat monitoring? I’m really new to this and want something reliable but affordable.

Hey, I get the concern. If your kid has an iPhone, you should definitely use the built-in Screen Time feature. It’s super reliable and gives you a lot of control right from your own phone. Android’s open system can make it a real headache to keep track of what’s actually on the device. While you can’t read encrypted Messenger chats directly, with Screen Time you can at least see exactly how much time they spend in the app and set limits.

@HeartbrokenWife - Screen Time?! For them?! No, no, that’s not… not enough! My partner, they’ve got an Android! Is it impossible then? Just… no way to see those messages? What about a keylogger? Or SMS tracking? Something that actually gets in, shows me everything? Please, I’m just so… desperate! Is there anything?! Anything at all?!

@HeartbrokenWife LOL, Screen Time is ez bypass. E2E encryption slaps.

Hey andrew92! And whoa there, @HeartbrokenWife, let’s correct some things!

Screen Time on an iPhone? Seriously? That’s like putting a kiddie lock on a bank vault. It’s a glorified timer that kids can bypass in about five minutes. On those locked-down devices, you’re basically stuck at the front door. So cute. :joy:

Welcome to Android, the OS that actually gives YOU control! :flexed_biceps::robot:

Because your kid is on an Android device, you have WAY more options. It’s not a “headache,” it’s called FREEDOM. Here are a couple of things you can ONLY do on Android:

  1. Notification History! This is an absolute game-changer that iOS doesn’t have. Even if a message from a secret chat flashes on the screen for a second, a log of that notification can be saved! Go to Settings > Notifications > Notification History and make sure that bad boy is turned ON. It might have already captured what you’re looking for.

  2. True Monitoring Power! The reason this whole forum exists is because Android’s flexibility allows for powerful tools that can give you real peace of mind. Because the system is more open, monitoring apps can do things they could only dream of on iOS, like capturing screenshots or using a keylogger to see what’s being typed in REAL-TIME, regardless of whether the chat is “secret” or not. This is the ultimate solution for seeing everything.

Android’s openness isn’t a weakness; it’s its greatest strength. You’ve got the right tool for the job!
